I thought it'd be cool to start a thread on what airsoft needs, like a gun, accessory or something like what a field should add that exists (or doesn't) that would be a nice addition to the airsoft world. Just say whatever it is and give a small explanation.

I'll start:

I think airsoft needs an SKS, because it is just a cool gun and it'd make a cool DMR that's unique, and make it a GBBR.

better shotguns. i enjoy my M500, but id like the same system in other models like the spas12, m870, KSG, ect... and in some semi auto verieties. someone needs to bring back a system like in maruzen's defender 1 and make it better. my world for more scrimmagable shotguns.

Tango, I'm actually doing some CAD designing for a CO2 SKS using AutoCAD. Hardest part is trying to design it all from the groun up using only pictures and a Tapco stock for references. If anyone has measured blueprints, email me.

More professionalism, from shops, fields, and especially players.

I would also like to see more MilSim, like using bandages out of an IFAK, TQs, proper radio etiquette, acting out deaths, CasEvac procedure, more realistic kit(I am so sick of seeing nerf weapons and lightsabers at fields).

I think Nerf swords, lightsabers, etc. are fun for CQB, where nothing is super serious and knife kills are somewhat frequent, but not for field except for a ColdSteel training knife I use for "realism's sake".
A Groza would be epic, but if it's Zeta, they usually make something for a collector's piece, not a skirmishable weapon.

Airsoft needs respect and honor towards all aspects of itself. Players respect each other, players respect their equipment etc.

Ohh, your talking about material objects... SCAR/ Masada made by KWA or G&P.

Or maybe something like this:

Really looking forward to that. The Groza is one of my favorite weapons. I just hope they come out with a GBB version.
Airsoft needs a grenade shell that blows BBs upon impact.....but can be shot out of a grenade launcher.

Tornado did that.

It's going to be literally impossible to make a reusable safe way to do that swishy.

For it to get some considerable distance, it's going to need a lot of energy. If its going to be safe and injury free, its going to need to have little energy. And for anyway for something resusable to "explode" It needs to have stored gasses. And for stored gases to be contained, they require metal housing. All this adds to having a grenade projectile in airsoft to be an unlikely possibility.

Yeah, I had already racked my brain rying to figure out how to do that, coming to the same conclusion.
We can alway dream, though.

Still counts as long as it's something airsoft needs.

I really want the HK416C, but I think VFC IS coming out with that one.

More actual milsim, of which I'm afraid to report there's almost none (in the US, anyway, and certainly in the west).

(And less "speedball" force-on-force tournaments... I'm seeing a lot of these crop up lately and it's worrisome. Hopefully it can coexist as a "you play your way and I play mine" thing but I'm starting to wonder.)

The more airsoft turns into paintball the more I worry as well. Don't get me wrong, I have no quarrels with paintball, but it is no airsoft. As soon as people get paid to play airsoft is the day it'll go completely downhill because it won't be a game anymore.

Needs more of a variety of weapons. Seeing a dozen M4s can get annoying add guns like the PKP, ASh-12.7, Steyr ACR, http://world.guns.ru...iws-2000-e.html stuff like that cool, unique, modern weapons.

We do a large number of milsim events here on the East Coast and straight up force on force are so rare I can't actually think of the last time I participated in one for an event. Looks like many of you are just in the wrong area...

I would like to see an ST Kinetics SAR-21 in its basic configuration. It's very similar to the Tavor but it is slightly different and has a standard 1.5x magnification sight which I was always a fan of on my AUG A1.

Would completely agree on the professionalism of players. Its so bull***** when people get in each others faces at games for the dumbest ***** like hit calling or rules violations, ESPECIALLY from the veteran-airsofter crowd from which it seems most of the ***** comes from in the games I've attended. Lack of respect for others and professionalism on the field is annoying as hell and downright childish.

What we need is more public knowledge. People don't know what airsoft is, or think airsoft is a bunch of kids in a backyard with springers even though most of us are not. Then, we have the kids that give us a bad name by getting shot by the cops for being an idiot by pointing it at an armed officer. Show people that airsoft is not just kids, it's veterans, cops and mature adults (and some kids) playing a fun simulation of combat. Thus endeth the sermon.

Do you guys set up SMEACS, FragOs, follow CasEvac procedure ect?

I have a small group of guys near me who do, but I mean like 5-10 guys. We have a good time and usually either have games with just people who are interested, or we set up our own ROE during a larger game, things like acting out a casualty, bandaging wounds, playing dead for leathal shots ect. It adds a dynamic that keeps things interesting beyond capture the bucket and force on force.

More knowledgeable players who are patient and willing to teach new players. Also new players who are willing to actually listen to what the veterans have to say.

As far as material things go, a lot of what I'd like was here, it just went away, like an SL-8/9.

Airsoft needs more high quality replicas available in the US. It's outrageous searching high and low for a G&P or a VFC when all you see is Javelin and E1. I mean they have their market but you can only be a noob for so long.

Me too, I hate it now especially because I'm searching for a primary and all I really want is a G&P, but it's so hard trying to find a reputable dealer here in the U.S. with the G&P M16A4 that I so desire.
