As some of you have noticed, there have been spammers/trolls posting pathetic messages just recently.

Our mod staff is working on handling these users. Please, in the mean time, do NOT feed the troll. Sheesh.

I just got spammed in chat by an anti spammer. Wow did I ever pick the right time to join or what. Right in the middle of a freaking board war.

Yeah you would see that a lot on the harry Potter forums. Eventually they were consumed by spam..... it was like a flood.... never ending......a wave of crushing wa-- ok I'll end the depressing dramatic shpeel I was going on a bit early.
to get to my main point it was kind of annoying to walk into chat to get the "Blah Blah has ignored you" "Blah Blah has unignored you" treatment.

Simply explained, there are things called proxies out there that will make you anonymous. If you access the site through a proxy, the IP will be the proxies instead of their own so they can just switched proxies and come back.

There are thousands of proxies out there, so it's impossible to block them.

Well, you all fail to remember that Dragon could just as easily send the spammers a message that contains a virus that combusts their computer into vigorous flames as soon as they open it.

who are some of these trolls? i don't recall any organization on ASF for trolling or anything like that. if they are from ASF, they are probably just acting alone. we have had a few trolls in ASF chat recently, but i think they have been dealt with. and to m715, i don't think that admin could/would do much about it, he rarely is online anymore.
